Was the Governor General's Decision to Prorogue Parliament Constitutional? Canada's Leading Scholars Weigh in on this Historic Ruling
On Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 the University of Toronto Faculty of Law hosted a panel discussion about the Governor-General's decision to prorogue parliament. The panel included leading constitutional scholars and politicians.
Many of the participants have expressed an interest in continuing the discussion, and will be posting a summary of their remarks from the panel directly to the faulty blog.
A webcast of the panel is now available: click here to view the webcast
Information regarding the panelists can be found here.
It is wonderful to see UT Faculty of Law hosting this panel.
P.S. The initial audio of the video was horrible (dropping out constantly). A few minutes in, the audio seems to get better but there are still enough audio drop out that makes understanding the discussions sometime changeling.
Judging from the video (a wide shot that I can't even tell who is speaking), for next time may be simply record a perfect audio (in mp3) for people to download will be a great service already.
Thanks again for posting the panel discussion as I am still listening and learning from it (20+ minutes in).
